  1. The CBA expires Sept. 15, so summertime business is theoretically normal — at least, it operates under the current rules. Teams and players will have to hedge their bets according to their belief in the potential for a lockout. Sure some details have yet to be worked out, but they have a full-season-lockout template in the 2004-05 AHL season off which to work.

    What are the rammifications of no CBA in the NHL to the AHL clubs? How does that affect the summertime happenings such as offering of contracts to RFA’s and the red light sale on July 1st. Does a work stoppage also affect the AHL? Keep in mind that Donald Fehr is the head of the NHLPA. Thanks.
