Got to start with this Worcester note, which I missed online but caught in print (ah, print): Mathieu Roy scored a short-handed, empty-net goal Friday for Springfield. Oh, and he scored it in the first period. Roy Sommer pulled the goalie with a little over four seconds to go; Springfield won the draw, and Roy blasted it 190 feet. (Bill Ballou is pushing to have the rule changed that, if an empty-netter is the only goal in the game — like, for instance, happened to Al Montoya in Bridgeport that time — the goalie would get a shutout.)

Mike Iggulden is in the accuracy competition and the pass-n-score competition. Andrew MacDonald, he of the bomb of a shot, is in the hardest-shooter contest.

Mike Sgroi returns to Utah. It’s an ECHL deal, obviously.
