Return home with new faces

Bridgeport plays at home for the first time since the local world changed Friday. Green ribbons abound. Pregame ceremony planned. Eyes will be dried. And then they’ll play hockey.

The PTOs come fast and furious all of a sudden as the Sound Tigers apparently get a look at some new players. They’ll actually only get a look at the newest tonight: Scott Campbell, a big centerman out of UMass-Lowell who has had a couple of cups of coffee in the AHL since finishing up with the Riverhawks in 2011. Chad Costello and Jack Combs, then, wait to make their Bridgeport debuts; Colorado wasn’t thrilled to lose them for more reasons than the 91-point obvious.)

Campbell sets a regular-season team record tonight by wearing No. 4. He becomes, um, only the second Sound Tiger to wear that since 2006. (Not that Mark Wotton is using it.)

Both teams have one to scratch. The appearances were a couple of 25s, Jordan Hill and David Wohlberg.
