Recalls in units: Top line goes up

|

In every game in which Ryan Strome has played for Bridgeport since Oct. 30, the top line has been Anders Lee-Strome-Mike Halmo.

The New York Islanders have the option of deploying that line together on Thursday: They recalled the three of them tonight. It’s Halmo’s first call-up. It’s a group that has worked well together for a long time.

So there go Bridgeport’s top three scorers, including a third of their goals. They’ve been getting contributions from further down the lineup through this hot streak. They’ll obviously need it even more. This leaves them with 10 forwards, not counting Justin Johnson, who works his way back from that lower-body injury this week.

Edit: Release said all three were emergency recalls; the three appear to be Tavares and Nielsen, obviously, plus Matt Martin, day-to-day (lower body).

This move was expected, the only surprise, in a good way, was Halmo going up as well. Hope they do well on the island. Just hope they aren’t healthy scratches.
