Holewa to college: Tuesday notes

Late-breaking bit (hat tip USCHO): Sound Tigers assistant Doug Holewa was named a new assistant coach at Lake Superior State, the school announced. Holewa had been here three years, since Matt Bertani was promoted along with Brent Thompson, working under Scott Pellerin for two years and Thompson Part II the year past.

Rookie camp starts Friday. (Odds are we’ll pick them up in regular camp.)

Around the way: Scott Ford, twice a Sound Tiger, has retired to become an assistant with the Milwaukee Admirals, where he’d found a home as a player. Sacred Heart’s Ben Lake has signed with Alaska (ECHL). Interesting hire in Los Angeles: Brantt Myhres. Read it. Seriously.

And RIP, Joaquin Andujar, Tyler Sash and Terry McDonnell.
