All hands back on deck: Thursday notes

If Bridgeport had practiced Monday and Ryan Pulock had never blocked that shot Saturday night, I imagine this is how it would have looked. Same lines. Same pairs, except Loic Leduc in for Scott Mayfield. Back to two goalies with J.F. Berube’s conditioning stint done.

“Scotty’s up right now. Good for him,” Brent Thompson said. “Hopefully we don’t see him again, we did our job. It gives Leduc an opportunity to step in as that shot-blocking defenseman.”

More from Pulock in tomorrow’s paper.

The AHL’s Player of the Week comes to town tomorrow. Saturday, the Sound Tigers and Penguins play on this sheet.

Aaron Ness got called back up to Washington. Skips Bridgeport trips, goes up to face the Islanders. I get it.

Notre Dame-West Haven’s Doug Caliendo scored to beat Northwest Catholic in overtime on the day he lost his dad, Lou, to cancer.

Amanda Kessel is back at it, which is awesome to hear.

Some crazy Simpsons fans have created Frinkiac, matching screencaps from the first 15 seasons to a quote you search for. So now we can produce things like this or this or this more or less at will. Productivity=shot.

And RIP, Bob Elliott and American hockey legend Jack Riley.
