Getting reacquainted: Monday’s notes Tuesday

No Sound Tigers practice on Monday, but they’ll be back on Tuesday for a morning skate, and then there’s Tuesday night’s game against Providence. It’s been a while since they’ve been in town. Will be good to get back to work, assuming we can see through the thin (thick?) haze of post-MONSTER JAM dirt. Stay tuned.

Elsewhere: POST-DEADLINE TRADE! sends Brandon Gormley from Albany to Binghamton. It’s the first trade or reassignment I caught since the NHL trade deadline; the AHL deadline is, again, Wednesday at 3 p.m.

In college, Sacred Heart went to double overtime with Bentley on Sunday night, but that’s where the season ended for the Pioneers. RPI fired Seth Appert, who had a handful of locals go through over the past decade.

Robb Stauber is the new head coach of the U.S. women’s national team, but Mike Richter taking over as goaltending coach was what really caught my eye. Paul Mara and Chris Tamer on the staff as well is interesting.

The Americans is back. So the postgame blog post will be short and early. (Probably not. But maybe.)

Glad that Michael Quinion is relatively OK; sad that World Wide Words has come to an end.

And RIP, Robert Osborne.
