Can’t tell your players (yet): Thursday notes

It appeared for a couple of hours Thursday that the Islanders were going to reveal Friday’s lineup one player at a time, as if they were unveiling the NCAA basketball bracket on Channel 2 in March. Alas, they stopped at the Quinnipiac boys, Devon Toews and Connor Jones. (Given that Kyle Burroughs had Wednesday off, maybe the Sound Tigers’ top defense pairing makes its Bridgeport return tomorrow.)

So we won’t know how the Islanders will line up until Friday morning (heck, if you’re up before I am, you may know it before I do). But as for the visitors:

Edit: Embedding the tweets may be hanging things up. Links here, and:

G: Pavelec, Nell. D: Bereglazov Pionk, Kampfer, Graves, Skjei, DeAngelo. F: Miller, Puempel, Hayes, Farnham, Vesey, Carey, Desharnais, Chytil, Tambellini, Stromwall, Buchnevich, Lettieri

They make the eight-veterans rule comfortably even before you count Filip Chytil, who looked good in kiddie camp in the summer and has continued to impress. It’ll be David Desharnais’ first game in Bridgeport since his seventh pro game a mere 10 years ago.
