Claimless/Turcotte signs: Tuesday notes

When Steve Bernier and Stephen Gionta got on the ice here, it called to mind this classic moment from 2012. It was not repeated: Bernier and Gionta cleared waivers, and they’re Sound Tigers, thus, as we figured yesterday, making those line combinations outdated. (They were identical today, for what will be worth tomorrow.)

So a few roster decisions likely to be necessary over the next little while; that’s 17 forwards right now. The only differences today from yesterday were a couple of absences, Eamon McAdam (was on early, said Brent Thompson, precautionary as he’s coming back from ailing in the preseason) and Devon Toews (to give him the day off he missed when he got called up to play Sunday).

Quebec Hebdo reported, and Yanick Turcotte confirmed, an AHL deal for the tryout winger, who’s opened some eyes as he’s worked his way from rookie camp to main camp to here. Couple of assists and a couple of fights in AHL exhibitions.

Andrey Pedan was traded to Pittsburgh this afternoon in a deal for Derrick Pouliot. Vegas claimed Malcolm Subban off waivers from the Bruins.

Brian Lockhart on the MGM proposal and what it could mean for the arena.

More on Tage Thompson making the Blues.

And RIP, Tom Petty.
