Bridgeport’s not skating today, but the team announced an AHL contract for its two-year captain, Ben Holmstrom. It also announced the Yanick Turcotte signing and Kellen Jones assignment to Worcester that had trickled out yesterday.
Holmstrom has played every game of the past two seasons, all of them with the C, a penalty-kill regular and checking centerman (when he isn’t on the wing, as he’s been for much of camp).
Turcotte and Holmstrom were the last of Bridgeport’s tryouts remaining. The roster is at 16 forwards, eight defensemen and three goalies, with 18 NHL contracts (8-7-3) and nine AHL contracts (8-1-0).
