Princely sum: Rochester pregame

Shane Prince’s last AHL game was the last day of the 2014-15 regular season, a playoff-less year for the Binghamton Senators, against his hometown Rochester Americans. He had a goal and an assist that day. There’s one Amerk left, Eric Cornel, from that game when Prince makes his AHL return today on a conditioning stint. That could take him through Christmas, six games, if they keep him here the full two weeks.

Prince is today in for Yanick Turcotte, bumping Stephen Gionta to the fourth line, the spot in which he returned to the lineup on Nov. 19 (though that had Connor Jones on the left side instead of Ross Johnston; Jones serves out his suspension today, which theoretically gives them 16 forwards available next week. Friday’s a long way away, though).

Kane Lafranchise returns for Parker Wotherspoon. (I assume that’s where he goes; was frantically trying to figure out what I did to the Rochester lines, which was “nothing.”) Kristers Gudlevskis in net. Game 100 for Devon Toews, Alan notes. (24th game, plus 76: Math checks out.)

One to scratch both ways, and all indications were the 13th forward both ways. Edit: Or maybe I missed something else in the frantic, as Ross Johnston’s listed as a scratch. No reason known up here.

This should be the box.

Bridgeport scratches (believed healthy unless noted): Wotherspoon, J.Holmstrom, C.Jones (suspended 3/3), apparently Schempp, Turcotte.

Route 8 was a lot better today than yesterday. (Wet enough in spots that I’m a smidge concerned about the ride home. Last night’s was OK, though.)
