Power down: Tuesday notes

In about five minutes of practice this morning, Bridgeport’s power play nearly cost them plenty. First Josh Ho-Sang tumbled into the end boards at high speed. He got up uncomfortably and left for the dressing room, but he appeared to be moving around the room OK afterward. Not long after Ho-Sang went down, Steve Bernier was standing in front and took a shot in the leg. He went down hard but skated it off.

So bullets dodged, apparently, Bridgeport was packing up for Hartford. With the morning game, the team is traveling tonight for a rare hotel night in Hartford. (We are not, and with the forecast, I kind of smell liveblog from the living room.)

Scott Eansor is day-to-day, Brent Thompson said. Lines were the same as they’ve been. If the Islanders were going to take a defenseman from here to spell Scott Mayfield, who left Monday night’s game after blocking a P.K. Subban shot, nothing was apparent yet.

Elsewhere, a friend forwarded this with “This is awesome.” It is.

And RIP, John Mahoney.
