Lacking quorum: Friday practice

Edit2: Reminder, as it tripped me and at least a few other people: Sunday’s game is the unusual 5 p.m. start.

After Thursday’s win, the 19 guys who played got this morning off, so there were just a few guys on the ice. Max MacKay was in the house as well, back up from Wheeling after the Nailers’ season ended.

Bridgeport’s off tonight but watching scoreboards. WBS at ADK, PRO at ALB, SPR at HFD, POR at MCR, BIN at NOR, HER at SYR. It’s an awful lot of “teams in the mix” vs. “teams not in the mix,” so the rooting interests for the Sound Tigers are relatively clear. They will, of course, still need to keep winning.

Tomorrow is the night when the Sound Tigers will honor Sandy Hook. About 300 tickets are out to the school, and at least three families are expected to attend; Victoria Soto’s family is expected to conduct the ceremonial puck-drop. More stuff in the paper, but they’ll be presenting a sizeable check to Sandy Hook Promise.

Edit: Via EliteProspects, Rhett Rakhshani stays in Sweden with Vaxjo.

Elsewhere: Kevin Ware visits Letterman (via satellite) for the Top 10 list. (Hat tip: Buster Olney). And reading of Roger Ebert’s passing yesterday, I was reminded how much love we share for one of those old Rock ‘n’ Roll movies.
