Five goals in 26 hours served to make Michael Dal Colle the AHL Player of the Week, the league announced. Dal Colle had a hat trick Friday, including one in overtime, and the first two Bridgeport goals of Saturday’s 5-3 win over Springfield. He scored the last of them, which put the Sound Tigers up for good, with five stitches in his eyelid, which wound up making him miss Sunday’s game.
Dal Colle is Bridgeport’s first Player of the Week since Ryan Pulock in February 2017. The Sound Tigers got no awards whatsoever last year, in-season or postseason, for only the second time (2012-13), if I count right.
