Eansor signs/Preseason before postseason

Turned into a newsy morning. Let’s work backward. The Islanders announced that Scott Eansor has agreed to terms on his entry-level contract, two years to begin next season. Eansor may always be the guy who was going to be scratched from the opener and instead scored seven goals in the first six games. Brent Thompson said on the Coach’s Show with Alan last month that he initially had Eansor ticketed for Worcester. Instead, here we are. Good for him. (Coincidentally he doesn’t have a point in the past 13 games, dating to before the illness that kept him out of four games in early February).

The Sound Tigers also announced another Isles-Rangers preseason game, exactly one year later, Saturday, Sept. 22. Tickets won’t go on sale until the summertime, probably sometime in June, but their big incentive in announcing it now: They want you buying ticket plans, which will give you access to the presale. (New buyers and renewers will get that chance.)

Charlotte got a big night last night from ex-Penguin Greg McKegg in a 3-1 win. The split isn’t helpful to Bridgeport, but the Sound Tigers still control their own you-know-what (it’s March 15): The Checkers lead by seven, and Bridgeport has 15 games left.

Looks like the same 20 as Sunday for Bridgeport in Game 62 tonight. More then.
