Quenneville signs (update: and Rathgeb)

Took a couple of days to finalize, apparently, but the Islanders and David Quenneville have a deal. Ryan McCracken of the Medicine Hat News reported the done deal and that Quenneville will be coming here tomorrow. The Isles’ seventh-round pick, 200th overall, two years ago — believe he’s the only remaining draft-pick decision this summer — led WHL defensemen with 26 goals and 80 points this year. He’s a righty, 5-foot-9, 195 pounds.

Edit, 1:15: The Big Club also announced that they’ve signed Yannick Rathgeb to his entry-level deal, two years. Another righty defenseman, Rathgeb played two years in the OHL before heading home to Switzerland for the past three seasons. He’ll turn 23 in the first month of next season.
