Inside jokes, virus-style

This is what I get for talking to security guards. And Koalska.

All is supposedly status quo at the moment. And we might get some answers tomorrow.

Bonus content part 1, nothing of significance but something that struck me funny… Check out the dates and stats on these two scoring streaks, the first of which tied a then-team-regular-season record, the second of which is active going into tomorrow night:

Collins 10 (2/4/05-2/26/05) (5-8-13)
a-Hamilton 9 (2/3/06-2/26/06) (6-8-14)

Dumb coincidence is all, but…

Bonus content part 2, an occasional feature perhaps: The “Real” Standings! We’re going back to 1992, baby. You lose, you lose. You tie, you don’t play penalty shots for a bonus point. Here’s the Eastern Conference standings this morning (pardon the odd spacing, dunno why):

East GP W L T Pts
WBS 59 35 17 7 77
Hershey 60 31 18 11 73
Bridgeport 61 29 28 4 62
Norfolk 57 26 23 8 60
Philadelphia 58 19 28 11 49
Binghamton 59 21 32 5 47
Atlantic GP W L T Pts
Portland 59 32 19 8 72
Hartford 58 31 18 9 71
Manchester 58 25 20 13 63
Providence 58 25 25 8 58
Lowell 61 20 33 8 48
Springfield 57 18 32 7 43
Albany 59 18 37 4 40

You will no doubt note the biggest difference in The Real Standings from the real standings is in the 2/3 spots in the Atlantic.

(These standings take some very dangerous assumptions for granted, of course. The OTL bonus point and the possibility of the shootout could change the way teams play throughout the game, leading to some different results. But these are the standings as they would be, counting OTLs as L’s, and SOWs and SOLs as T’s.)

(And don’t get angry at these, or I’ll get REALLY testy and we’ll go back to, what, like, 1972, when you played 60 minutes and went home one way or t’other…)

Hoping this is just the 12-to-24-hour variety…

come on and tell us about Macri! jeez! take care. of course you can not miss a game!!

Yes, inquiring minds still want to know about Macri. And for the person who said Marci is no loss, is sadly mistaken. He is one of the few young d-men who played his heart out every game. Not saying the other guys don’t but there was something more about Vinny in the way he played. The fans deserve to know what happened to him.

Feel better Mike. This is the worst time of year to be sick.

Mike, will you be doing an interview with Robbie to get an update on his daughter?

Posted by: gj2010 at March 1, 2006 11:43 AM

Thanks all. Feelin’ OK… but whatever it is, my Mom picked it up. Dad’s next. GJ, I might, but it’ll depend in part on timing…
