Poulin aboard

A report out of Victoriaville has Kevin Poulin agreeing to terms with the Islanders, which a source confirmed. (Hat tip to NYI Fan Central for passing on the link.) Poulin has become a touted junior goalie after being a fifth-round draft pick two years ago.

Edit, 6:10 p.m.: team confirms.

He jumps into the goaltending mix that includes DiPietro, Roloson, Koskinen and maybe restricted free agent Nathan Lawson, if he wants back into it.

ObFWB: “Poulin and Islanders get along.” That’s always nice. And bonus Fun With Google Translate, which apparently thinks he’ll be a part-time doorman for cats: “The porter of felines, a fifth-round choice of New York in 2007 (sic), has affixed his name to a contract to two parts of three seasons.” We eagerly wait to see which parts. (Pretty sure that’s a two-way contract.)

Tied up with other stuff last night; will try to do a catch-up tonight on the Worlds, which, hey, we’re hanging with France and Kazakhstan now: Relegation fun begins tomorrow. Two bits worth noting while we’re here: Steve Regier re-signed in Austria. (ObFWB: “Also with the two rounds in the IIHF Continental Cup it confirmed recently with gates and ate its ambitions to sit down internationally strongly in scene.”) And this was all over the place yesterday, but I saw it first on CapGeek’s Twitter feed: Former Danbury Trasher and WBS Penguin J.M. Daoust signed his first NHL contract, with Minnesota.

Also, it’s apparently Luke Milbury’s last day with the Sound Tigers. Best of luck to him.
