They find ways

The Bears were a minute away from going home needing two wins. Chris Bourque tied it late. Francois Bouchard won it midway through OT. The Bears are one win away from another final.

Cincinnati took a 3-1 lead in the Kelly Cup Final with a 3-2 win over Idaho. The Cyclones had to kill a penalty in the final minute, too, but they can wrap it up Friday.

Nygel’s retiring (as are a few other NHL refs), so the AHL needs a new whipping boy new officials. One apparently will come from across the ocean: The NHL hired Marcus Vinnerborg from Sweden.

Winners in Germany: well, Germany (Philip Gogulla on the goal), who’ll play Russia (Canada goes down); Sweden (a goal for Marcus Nilson; an assist and four more PIMs for Frans Nielsen) and, sadly enough in the bonus round, the Czechs. Semis on Saturday.
