SHG for D: Friday notes

Interesting little note picked up in passing yesterday: Last week — in two nights, actually — Adam Pelech became the fourth Bridgeport defenseman to score two short-handed goals in a season. One was Allan Rourke in 2006-07. And the other three all did it in 2004-05: Chris Campoli, Cole Jarrett and Bruno Gervais.

This year’s group is on the way to Newfoundland, if they’re not there already. The Big Club announced an entry-level deal for Anthony Beauvillier, their second first-rounder of the summer.

A couple of notes I forgot to include yesterday: Former Sacred Heart forward Patrick Knowlton is USA Hockey’s new coordinator of adult hockey. And Jonathan Bombulie on the Richards brothers, two of the best WBS graduates.

And RIP, Jimmy Roberts.
