Ready to go: Friday notes

Forwards like this, and defensemen and goalies like this: that’s more or less your 2017-18 opening-night Bridgeport Sound Tigers.

Kellen Jones and Yanick Turcotte were the latest players sent to Worcester. “At the end of the day, we want our guys to play as much as possible,” Brent Thompson said. “Both Jones and Turcotte will be up with us at some point. They earned the right to be here, but at this point it’s more important they’re playing. It’s a numbers thing.”

To be seen what happens with the three goalies. “We’ve got to make sure Eamon’s healthy,” Thompson said. One game this weekend, two next, then a three-in-three.

Ben Holmstrom, re-upped, is again captain. Steve Bernier and Seth Helgeson wear the A’s.

Thompson was back from Pittsburgh: “It was a nice experience with my son and my wife,” Thompson said. “It was nice to see him play in the NHL, very happy he actually got to play, to be involved. They got the win, which was nice. It was a great all-around experience. What a place. What a family experience.”

Six games in the American League tonight. Hopefully I figure out by then why I’m the only one who can’t get AHL Live to load…

Scooter Vaughan bobbleheads. Feb. 17 is the rare Saturday off. Are you pondering what I’m pondering?

Mark Flood made the Moose.

And “I’m no stranger to the stage“? Shocked, Austin Rogers. Been fun watching him on Jeopardy the past couple of weeks. Gutsy.
