Cullity, J.Holmstrom to Worcester (update: Kubiak, Turcotte up)

Josh Holmstrom and Pat Cullity to the Railers, Bridgeport announced this morning. The Railers, four points out of a playoff spot, play Friday and Saturday in Reading, so conceivably those two get a ride to Wilkes-Barre to rejoin the Sound Tigers on Sunday. But we’ll see.

This leaves Bridgeport 12 forwards available for tomorrow in Syracuse, as things stand. It looked as if at least one of the two new defensemen, Tyler Mueller and Ryan MacKinnon, might play Friday, and with this now I wonder (and I’m completely spitballing here) if both might. Brent Thompson has played seven defensemen a couple of times times in the past, including once earlier this year at Hartford (though part of that was Ryan Bourque’s injury), to try to ease youngsters in and put them in the best spots possible.

The team is on its way to Syracuse and was supposed to practice there. Lindsay Kramer will probably track them down.

–Oh: And Charlotte recalled former Sound Tigers defenseman Matt Finn from the ECHL this morning.

–Edit: Or, perhaps, scratch all that spitballing: Darryl Hunt notes that the ECHL transactions have Jeff Kubiak and Yanick Turcotte coming up to Bridgeport.
