Canada beats Latvia 2-1 in overtime, moving into third in the pool. Gudlevskis made 31 saves, and the only other shot to beat him was by brief Sound Tigers teammate Anthony Beauvillier.
Still, by getting the point Monday, Gudlevskis assured that the winner of Latvia-Denmark on Tuesday will make the quarterfinals. The U.S. and Finland play for first in the pool on Tuesday morning… a couple of hours. The pool winner gets one of Slovakia, Switzerland or France, depending how things shake out. Second place draws the Czech Republic.
