The Lou Era: Monday notes

A day at the track (meet) included reports from all over that Lou Lamoriello is expected to take over the Islanders’ hockey operations in the near future. (If you’re not an Athletic subscriber, (1) your loss, (b) here’s Newsday.) It’s always something different around here, so why not have the father come join the organization where the son already works?

To be seen how that affects things. Heck, his arrival hasn’t even been announced.

Elsewhere, distracted by an assortment of other things, we haven’t even mentioned the Memorial Cup, whose four-team round robin has two games to go. Nor did we point out that Florida is in the Kelly Cup Final, awaiting the winner of Fort Wayne and Colorado.
