Capital: Thursday notes

Lane Lambert and his family have been through hell and back. He was assistant coach of the Bridgeport Sound Tigers for a season, a term that ended 12 years and a week ago. He has done all right job-wise since then. And tonight, he’s a Stanley Cup champion. Awesome to see this.

Speaking of hell, RIP, Liisa Viitanen.

In Texas, former Sound Tiger Matt Mangene took the shot, Justin Dowling tipped it in, and the Stars tied the Calder Cup Final at 2 with a 3-2 win tonight. So we couldn’t have had all three Cups awarded Saturday; it’ll just be the Kelly Cup. Good scheduling, NHL. Game 5 outside Austin is Saturday. Game 6, now necessary, is back in Toronto on Tuesday.

Whatever became of Dono? He signed with the… Admirals. (That doesn’t parse. Shut it.) Matt Donovan’s back from Europe.

And… Dude.
