Family business: Tuesday notes

The Islanders’ restricted free agent business is all but done: They announced a two-year contract for Ryan Pulock on Tuesday morning. All that’s left is Brock Nelson, with whom they’ll either go to arbitration or settle. They sit at 45 NHL contracts.

CapFriendly has the numbers on Devon Toews (one-way) and Kyle Burroughs (nice guarantee).

Couple of items from Providence: Mark Divver reports Tim Army will become coach of the Iowa Wild. Army was head coach in Portland over a decade ago before stints at Providence College and as a Colorado Avalanche assistant; he was an assistant with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton last year. (Son Derek was named assistant coach in Worcester this summer.) And the Dunkin’ Donuts Center has a new scoreboard going in, and everyone who sits in that press box sings the Hallelujah Chorus.

Congratulations to Kyle and Hannah Schempp.

And RIP, Vaclav Burda.
