Road Game: Bridgeport at Rochester

  • Who, when, whatever: Bridgeport at Rochester, The War Memorial, Friday, 7 p.m.
  • Watch: AHLTV pay-per-view
  • Listen: Mixlr audio
  • Twitters: Alan / the Sound Tigers / the Amerks
  • Box score: Yes (R: Sandlak, Blandina; L: A.Tobias, Wasilewski).
  • Storyline: Bridgeport has won seven in a row, is 9-0-1-0 in the past 10, can start whispering about magic numbers. Michael Dal Colle remains up (now a regular recall, in fact, No. 2), but Josh Ho-Sang was sent down today; not clear if he plays tonight. Christopher Gibson is also up with Robin Lehner out, and Mitch Gillam is with the Sound Tigers. (From the timing of the bus and the Gillam-recall tweet, I choose to believe that my half-joke came true.) Looks like Mike Sislo is ready to go, too; his last game was in Rochester. Two weird little facts about the season series with the Amerks: (1) Victor Olofsson has all three game-winners (two, officially, but): One with just under a minute left in regulation, one in overtime, one in a shootout. (2) But if Bridgeport keeps him off the board and manages to win tonight, it looks like it’s the first 1-1-1-1 season series (from the Bridgeport perspective) of the shootout era. (There was a 1-1-1-1 series with Houston in 2002-03: W-L-T-OTL.)
  • Meh, what else is going on: A whole lotta high schools. Go check out GameTime.
  • This week has kind of stunk, has it not? My goodness, between Alex Trebek and Tom Seaver, not to mention, well…
  • RIP, Jan-Michael Vincent, and the legend, Dan Jenkins.
  • Aren’t you supposed to be doing something else: Good gravy, yes.
  • If this were a regular blog post, what word or phrase would most likely follow “More” at this point: Eventually.
