The first salvo for Bridgeport, perhaps, finally: CapFriendly reports a two-year contract from the Islanders for Cole Bardreau. Turning 26 later this month, he was a Group 6 free agent.
We saw Bardreau play all over the Lehigh Valley lineup the past few years, center, wing, high in the lineup, fourth line. He’s a defensive and penalty-kill forward (got the award to prove it at Cornell) who chips in offensively (30 points in 45 games two years ago) but has struggled to stay healthy (Games played in his full pro seasons: 54, 72, 45 and 40). Interesting addition.
