HOME game: Wilkes-Barre/Scranton at Bridgeport

  • Who, when, whatever: Penguins at Sound Tigers, Arena at Harbor Yard, Bridgeport, 7 p.m.
  • Watch: AHLTV pay-per-view
  • Listen: Mixlr audio
  • Twitters: Alan / the Sound Tigers / the Penguins / Nick Hart / Tyler Piccotti / Jason Iacona
  • Box score: Why not (R: Schrader, Halkidis; L: Deschamps, Dapuzzo)
  • Game notes: Well they scored a power-play goal last night. They got a point. They did not get a win. So back home they come to face the Penguins. Ryan MacKinnon was called up from Worcester after David Quenneville left early in the second last night, blocking a shot off his leg. Matt Lorito returned last night, and St. Denis was swapped with Bourque, but otherwise they looked a lot like they did last weekend to start. We’ll see if that sticks. Or someone will see if that sticks.
  • Meh, what else is going on: The AHL’s new president will be Scott Howson, continuing Edmonton’s hegemony over the league. The league also un-forfeited that Jan. 10 game that was never started after Toronto Marlies assistant coach Rob Davison suffered a pregame seizure. Also our bud Ben Birnell had never seen a player drink from an opposing goalie’s water bottle before, so I hadda make a little introduction. (Didn’t that used to be on YouTube? Couldn’t find it.)
  • Props also to the gentleman at Wesleyan who asked how they did against Bowdoin (sorry, just here for the high school game and the wifi) and then wondered in what language I was writing this blog (italicized English, mostly, to remind me what parts still needed updates… though one never knows).
  • If this were a regular blog post, what word or phrase would most likely follow “More” at this point: Monday, probably?
