Road game: Bridgeport at Providence

  • Who, when, whatever: Sound Tigers at Bruins, Providence Civic Center, 3:05 p.m.
  • Watch: AHLTV pay-per-view
  • Listen: Mixlr audio
  • Twitters: Alan / the Sound Tigers / Mark Divver
  • Box score: Yep (R: Curtin, Deckard; L: Gates, Gauvin)
  • Game notes: The Islanders’ trade yesterday has brought Sebastian Aho back to Bridgeport, with David Quenneville going to Binghamton. There’s a week to the NHL trade deadline as the puck drops this afternoon, which is an eternity at this time of year. (The week, not the afternoon.) (It’ll still go quickly somehow.) Bridgeport has a point in four games in a row for only the second time this year (W4, Nov. 23-29) after beating the Penguins on Saturday night behind Simon Holmstrom’s first multi-point and multi-goal game. Grant Hutton also had a couple of assists, and a good night for Jared Coreau. The lineup was basically the same as Friday, with Ryan MacKinnon in place of Quenneville. Quenneville’s not getting back in the lineup today, if you know what I mean.
  • Meh, what else is going on: Tip of cap to onetime Sound Tigers defenseman Andre Benoit, apparently now a firefighter in Brampton, Ontario.
  • RIP, Tony Fernandez.
  • If this were a regular blog post, what word or phrase would most likely follow “More” at this point: Wednesday. Unless this scheduled post requires an update of some sort
