Call For Votes, why not: Fake Team Awards XV

There’s no sign this thing’s coming around anytime soon. I’m writing about town budgets. So what the heck. One more time: It’s time yet again (fifteen years!) to vote for our Fake Team Awards. (Tell your friends. Please.)

You guys pick the winners of two fake trophies: Fan Favorite (choose your own criteria; he’s your favorite) and Seventh Player (performance beyond expectations, on which I reserve the right to break a tie but probably won’t).

You can vote in the comments (on this post only), e-mail it to mfornabaio@ctpost.com or DM it to @fornabaioctp. (Tweets/Facebook/other socialist media won’t count.) Voting is open until 11 p.m. on Friday, May 1 — holy cro, you guys: Next week is May — and we’ll “announce” the winners here sometime after that. (It’ll be the first time a Sound Tiger wins in May in a long time.) I’ll figure out a Three Stars Award again off the official picks.

If you need a refresher after a month and a half, no one will blame you; here’s the roster as it stood before everything stopped, with Otto Koivula and Thomas Hickey on recall and Andrew Ladd being the other guy on the NHL roster with significant AHL time this year. And if they actually somehow play some games after this… I’ll apologize.

Please vote once and only once; these are just for fun. No changing your vote, either, so make it count, and no vote-splitting; one name for each award. I’ll post a reminder or two or seven.

The awards history can be found on last year’s results post. And if you’re for some reason curious how this all began, the introduction of the idea is here.

Please keep this post’s comments to votes, or at least discussion about votes. Thanks.

Michael Fornabaio
